“Paver Pete” has authored numerous articles and has appeared as a leading hardscape expert on more than 25 national and local television and radio programs, including “Hometime,” “Home Team,” and “Man Cave.” Pete is one of the industry’s leading experts on permeable pavement systems and is an accredited instructor on Porous Pavements for the American Institute of Architects/American Society of Landscape Architects.
Pete has taught, bid, marketed, sold, and installed pavers and SRW’s on a large scale, in over 30 states in the U.S. and five countries abroad.
Currently residing in Ohio with his wife and daughter, Pete enjoys his collection of Jeeps, motorcycles, and cars. Reading close to 50 books per year on history, politics, religion, and economics…as well as business, marketing, sales, and construction keeps Pete very busy!
At age 14 Brad Stephenson started his career shearing Christmas trees at a local tree farm. He has now spent more than 30 years in the green industry that he loves. A 1994 Governor Mifflin High School alumnus, he is also a graduate of the Berks Career and Technology Center’s (BCTC) Horticulture program, earning the Outstanding Horticulture Award in his senior year. Upon graduation, Brad worked at a few companies to hone his management skills before joining New Castle in 2005 as a “laborer”. Brad continued to grow in management and helped take New Castle from an $800,000 company to a $10,000,000 company. In 2014, he earned the position of partner, and now is now co-owner and CEO of New Castle Lawn & Landscape. Brad’s passion lies in building teams of great people and in challenging individuals to grow. With 84 employees, he and his team has implemented a mentorship program helping local high school juniors and seniors to explore landscaping careers. Brad is a Certified Behavioral Analysis Consultant and a DISC Certified Instructor and a member of business groups that help push him to always challenge himself. Brad is also a business consultant helping other small businesses identify pain points and work through challenges to realize their full potential. Brad has been a guest on the Hardscape Growth Podcast along with several other industry podcasts and served on conference panels where he has spoken on topics ranging from tech integrations to team building and culture.
Brad is also passionate about giving back. He is active in many non-profits which includes serving as a regional board member for the Caron Foundation and is on the John Paul II Center for Special Learning board. His mission is to impact as many lives as he can both personally and professionally.
Caleb R. Bahler is a hardscaper, operator, project manager, speaker, and educator. He
proudly works for Pave Tool Innovators, a hardscape tool store, in which he helps invent tools
and educate contractors on how to take the pain out of installing pavers and walls.
Caleb is the next generation following industry leader, Phil J. Bahler, Caleb has
participated in many events, speaking, and educating fellow hardscape companions at
Hardscape North America, New England Hardscape, and Dealer Contractor Events. Caleb has
participated in the building of two Techo Bloc Showcases, demonstrating the best practices of installation.
Caleb is an Active Member of ICPI, NCMA, NECMA, and is a Techo Pro, an Authorized
Unlock Contractor. His Projects have been awarded at Hardscape North America as well as Unilock Authorized contractor events.
Caleb Bahler was born into a family who has invested their lives to Hardscaping. Caleb
Bahler worked for Bahler Brothers, as a project manager, machine operator, and operations
manager. Bahler Brothers, owned by his Father Phil Bahler, and his uncles; Steve, Tom, and
Lloyd Bahler. With the knowledge Caleb gained from Phil’s 38+ years of installing hardscapes,
along with his own 15 years of experience in hardscaping, he wishes to extend that knowledge
to fellow hardscapers. It is his passion to better the industry by educating fellow installers on
the best practices and assisting Phil in inventing tools to Take the Hard out of Hardscaping.
Caleb has always had a passion for building hardscape projects but also love the art of
building with wood as well. When Caleb is not working at Pave Tool you can find him working
in his wood shop constructing furniture, cutting boards, and other wood projects. Caleb has
GC’d the build of Pave Tools 8,000 sq ft warehouse, showroom, and training facility. His latest
project is refurbishing a house built in 1790.
Mahlon Stoltzfus has been involved in hardscape design and installation since 2011 when he became
a partner in L&S hardscapes. Six years ago, he pivoted into hardscape retail and distribution with
Sauders Hardscape Supply has since been honing his expertise in joint materials and systems
designed for longevity. Mahlon loves nothing better than helping contractors address various jointing
issues and solving the problems that present with specific projects. Far from a one-size-fits-all approach
Mahlon comes to each question using a mix of innovative joint materials and installation systems. He is
passionate about equipping and educating the industry with the right tools and techniques for the job at
hand.
Drawing from his own experience as a contractor coupled with his knowledge of trending products such
as thin stone and porcelain, Mahlon’s presentation will give you the tools to confidently choose the right
products as well as grow your skill of proper application—all with the goal of serving your customers better
than ever for the glory of God.
Joshua loves to travel and is in love with life. He is a family man, coach, entrepreneur & passionate creator who
lives to serve others while collecting beautiful moments along the way. His humble beginnings started at age 5
working in his family’s garden center. He enjoyed this hard work in the family business until the age of 18 when in
1996 he, his father, and brother started a design/build company, TimberRock Landscaping.
In 2011, After 15 years with TimberRock, his heart yearned for more, so he parted ways to start his first
independent company. This new passion-driven business, MasterPLAN Outdoor Living, is a design/manage firm
whose mission is to create the most comfortable, efficient, and beautiful outdoor spaces on the planet while
providing the highest level of customer experience. Over his 25-year career in this industry, he and his amazing
team have designed, sold, and built over $40 million (and counting) in outdoor living projects.
In 2020, Joshua was once again called to step into his ever-growing passion by launching a one-of-a-kind coaching
program specifically for landscapers, hardscapes, and outdoor living professionals called YES Express Sales
Academy. This program is where he and his team are able to teach his tried and tested design/manage business
model, sales systems, and secrets that are the core to his continued success. This step-by-step training is
specifically aimed at the growth-focused go-getters in our industry. Since we started this journey, we have been
blessed to train over 100 business owners and teams just like you how to make 2X the revenue in 1/2 the time.
In 2021, he started The Outerspaces Podcast to help his beloved industry with Sales/Communication, Business, and
Mindset. He is a passionate podcaster and LOVES interviewing incredible guests to share their life-changing
business/life stories.
Joshua has an insatiable love of learning, communicating, adding massive value, and more importantly, getting
things done.
James Stoltzfus is the General Manager of Sauder’s Hardscapes and has extensive experience in the
hardscape industry. He specializes in hardscape, commercial and residential masonry, and a full range of
design-build. He enjoys interacting with the hardscape industry and believes there is a lot that can be
learned from collaborating. James sees many contractors working hard and believes that the tips he has
learned and observed will help people become better at what they do. His advice is to work smarter, not
harder, and to improve one thing at a time. Everyone should start seeing their “competitors” as friends
and know that there are enough resources for everyone to succeed!
Josh Bahler is the 2nd generation owner of Bahler Brothers, a family-owned Hardscape Business out of
Connecticut with many awards for quality, integrity, and creativity. Josh started off as a laborer hauling
pavers and pushing wheelbarrows. He was then promoted to foreman eventually reaching project
manager. In 2022 Josh bought out the remaining owners. Today with over 25 years of experience in the
hardscape industry he always brings something new to the table. His passion for the industry comes
from seeing projects come to life while sharing the excitement of seeing their dreams come true.
While growing up in the family business, he was always encouraged to get life/work experience outside
of Bahler Brothers. Josh holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Central Connecticut University
which opened opportunities at a tax firm. After experience in the accounting field, Josh still knew where
his heart’s passion laid. It was time to make one of the best decisions to follow his full potential and love
for hardscaping.
Josh is a loving father to four kids and husband to a beautiful wife. His main hobbies include hunting and
mountain biking.

Jeremy Martin is the owner of Willow Gates Landscaping. His area of expertise is in permeable
hardscapes, concrete pavers, SRW, and stone fabrication. He has been involved in hardscape and
outdoor living for 27 years. Jeremy has long believed in the value of education. He has seen the
difference it has made in his career and has been privileged to pay it forward as an instructor for
installer certification courses and school shop classes. His encouragement is to be passionate, sweat the
details, and be willing to take on increasingly complex projects. Use each project as a building block on
your way to creating masterpieces! Don’t settle for doing things the same way you always have and stay
current!
Weston Zimmerman has experience in outdoor living for over 15 years. He specializes in building water
features, job operations, and software systems, and has the knowledge with numbers to quote jobs that will
profit your business. He loves helping talented craftsmen in the industry figure out how to charge what
they are worth and get them to own a business instead of the business owning them. Weston’s
reminder to his customers is that growth is painful and awkward. Get ready to lean into it not just to
