GFTK Xtreme Ceramic VDW 815 Grouting Binder is a water-permeable, self-compacting grout for porcelain flagstones and slabs. It is suitable for light to medium traffic and can be applied in wet or cool conditions.

Site Preparation
Ensure a stable, load‑bearing base with a water‑permeable sub‑base sized for traffic loads. VDW grouting suits small to large formats, but not substructure settlement, sealing, or waterproofing. 815 Grouting Binder can be applied on damp surfaces, in high humidity, and even in rain. Clean the paving thoroughly, clear joints to the required depth, pre‑wet the surface, and mask areas not being jointed.
Mixing The Epoxy Mortar
- Pre-mix the resin-coated aggregate materials (Component A) of VDW 815 in a clean pail.
- Add the liquid hardener (Component B) from the bottle to the pail and mix with a drill and spherical paddle mixers until smooth.
- Mix for at least 3-5 minutes.
- Caution: Do not use a material that isn’t thoroughly mixed, and do not add water during the process.
Filling The Joints
Immediately pour mixed VDW 815 onto the pre‑wetted surface and squeegee into joints. If it hardens too fast, lightly spray with water. Keep the area constantly wet. Do not mix partial units or use unmixed material.
Brushing Off
After 5 minutes, remove excess VDW 815 with a damp coconut fiber brush. Lightly spray the joints without washing out material, then clean the paved surface in the areas to be joined. Do not let residue‑laden water stand, dry, or run over finished sections. Finish by rinsing and brushing off any remaining residue with water and a coconut brush.
Important Information
Avoid walking on freshly applied areas for at least 24 hours or until the paving surface is no longer tacky. A very thin layer of resin binder may remain on rough surfaces that are not thoroughly cleaned, but it will disappear over time as it is exposed to the elements.
