Yes, stone veneer is inherently non-combustible and suitable for fireplaces. Maintain proper clearances for gas units and use rated backer assemblies.

Ottawa Dry Stack Stone and Arctic Precisionfit are both designed for tight-joint installations that don’t require visible mortar.

It’s much lighter, usually about a third to a quarter of the weight of full-thickness stone, which makes it easier on both your walls and your back.

Dust it with a soft brush, and spot-clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Avoid harsh acids or pressure washing on manufactured veneer.
