Choose a transformer based on your lights’ voltage and total wattage, with a 20–30% capacity buffer. Consider dimming, indoor vs. outdoor rating, and any extra features.
It depends on your total load and the transformer’s capacity. Example: 10 lights × 10W = 100W. Add at least a 20% buffer, so choose a 120W transformer. You can mix different fixtures on one unit as long as the combined wattage stays within the transformer’s rated output (plus buffer).

To install a transformer, you’ll need to mount it on the floor or wall, depending on your chosen type, prepare the wiring, and connect the power supply and load. Again, our installation guide is valuable for setting up your low-voltage lighting system.
